Getty Museum
I like the Getty Museum, because there are lots of interesting and inspirational artworks. I could find different interesting things and different aesthetic aspects every time when I visit Getty.
One of the interesting artwork in the Getty Museum was "The Tomb of Madame Langhas". This artwork showed a lady bursting through the tomb slab with her infant son. It has a very emotional execution for me, which reminded me a new born and death in between human's life.
The "Still Life: Tea Set" by Jean-Etienne Liotard used oil and canvas and mounted on board. The artist created a delightful Rococo Paradox by suggesting messiness ad informality with his meticulous technique and careful composition. The strong contract on background made the objects were more realistic as better as taken by photography.
Every time when I looked at "The Portal of Rouen Cathedral in Morning Light by Claude Monet, It gave me different feeling on it. Its richly textured surface on which light and atmosphere play with infinite and colorful variation. I thought that was the reflection on water or on mirror.
This was "Christ with the Crown of Thorns" by Guido Reni. Artistic used Oil on copper. actually I saw a lot of painting of Christ, but this art work gave me some kind of quiet and tranquility feeling when I was viewing. I thought it because color usage and its smooth light source that made the entire image soft enough. The facial expression reminded me Christian belief of Christ's dual nature as "True God and True Man".
This was craved relief of Limewood. Although there had no any color in this piece of art work, it created as an artistic expression. The aspect of three dimension were very unique, also the details of craving technique made that object were very relativistic.

Arts from Art Colony
This was the first time I have been to Art Colony in the Pomona Art Walk. It was very surprising me that there were a lot of interesting art works created by local artistic that displayed in the Art Colony.
This one was also displayed in DA gallery. It named "shoots and ladders" by Athena H. Hahn. Actually it has three similar pieces were displayed, but I only took a picture for the bottom one. I like this one because it reminded me Chess in my childhood. Its complementary background color was very dazzling by comparing the other two. Typefaces were distributed tidy and cover most of the small picture, so it made people want to spend more time to look closely to find out the development in this art work.
The other art work attracted my eyes in the Art of Colony was the “Sweets for the Sweet” created by Leslie A. Brown. This art work has three panels and used different materials to combine with painting. This art work gave me some sort of street art feeling, because its composition. It was hard to tell the theme of this art work, because there were different reflections of approaching in different expects. There were human figures, landscape, and plants. The creative idea of this art work can be the artistic knew how to use some of recycle materials into painting. It made smoothly transition of the materials as part of the painting.
This art work was named "Reflection". In this piece of art, artist showed a landscape by viewing sunrise or sunset from the mountain. The artist used yellow to embellish some sort of soft light in the entire image. The artist also used darker natural color as the main object which was the mountain stood closer and clearly to viewer. It brought high contrast with the other mountains, and created a greater depth and filed. The artist also used very light green in the middle of it. It looked like a lake and surrounds by dense forest. It made that the other mountains stood more far away from the main mountain. By viewing this piece of artwork, it gave me some sort of natural sense which meant a harmony reflection of human living environment that we pursuit.
